Job Responsibilities Facilitate the news gathering process and ensure comprehensive coverage of stories. Collaborate and communicate effectively with assignment desk personnel. Generate daily, enterprise, and evergreen story ideas. Monitor scanners, wires, internet sites, and social media for breaking news. Develop contacts within the community for news stories. Coordinate logistics for field coverage and dispatch crews. Make editorial decisions on stories and support producers with information gathering. Coordinate news content and interviews, and work on story/sweeps planning. Conduct investigative research and generate story ideas. This position offers benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and discounts. Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000. Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience as an Assignment Editor, Reporter, or Producer. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience. Willing to work in Washington, D.C. Unrestricted work authorization in the U.S. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays. Application via with resume/CV.
