Job Description

Champion Chevrolet GMC is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Automotive Title Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing all aspects of vehicle titles and registration paperwork. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and accurate transactions for both customers and the dealership. Key Responsibilities: * Title and Registration Processing: * Prepare and process vehicle title and registration documents for new and used car sales. * Ensure that all title work is completed accurately and in compliance with state laws and dealership policies. * Verify the accuracy of all title and registration paperwork. * Document Management: * Maintain and update the dealership’s title records, ensuring all titles are properly filed and accessible. * Handle titles and lien releases for trade-ins, financing, and vehicle sales. * Communication with State Agencies: * Work with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and other state agencies to resolve any title issues or discrepancies. * Follow up on pending title applications and ensure timely processing. * Customer Support: * Provide excellent customer service to buyers and sellers, answering questions about vehicle titles, registration, and other related processes. * Assist customers with title transfers, registration renewals, and other related tasks. * Compliance and Documentation: * Ensure all documents are in compliance with state and federal laws, including lien information, tax calculations, and title releases. * Prepare, process, and track all required paperwork for vehicle financing, including title and lien information. * Other Duties as Assigned: * Assist with other administrative and clerical tasks as needed by the dealership’s management team. Qualifications: * Experience: * Previous experience in automotive title processing, DMV paperwork, or related fields preferred. * Knowledge of state and federal title laws and regulations is a plus. * Skills: * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and dealership management software (experience with CDK, Dealertrack, or similar systems is a plus.) Physical Demands: * Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer station. Work Environment: * Fast-paced, dealership office environment with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
