Job Description
We are an established freight company seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Hazmat Training Instructor to lead classroom-based and/or virtual orientation sessions for our newly hired CDL drivers. This role is critical to ensuring our drivers are compliant with DOT, FMCSA, and hazmat regulations before hitting the road.
Must have good teaching skills.
Bilingual is preferred.
Conduct theory-based Hazmat training per FMCSA/PHMSA regulations (49 CFR Parts 172, 177
Lead structured new driver orientation covering:
Company policies & safety culture
FMCSA compliance
Hours of Service (HOS) rules
PTI (Pre-trip inspection) education
ELD basics
Administer and grade knowledge checks or quizzes.
Maintain records of all completed training and driver certifications.
Provide updates to Safety and Compliance teams on training progress.
