About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for its Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and administrative leadership to the department, overseeing the development and delivery of the academic and research programs, and fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and scholarly activities. The Chair will also be tasked with promoting and supporting the research efforts of faculty members, as well as with the recruitment and retention of high-caliber academic staff. Collaboration with other departments and institutions, both nationally and internationally, is a key aspect of the role, as is the promotion of the department's mission within the scientific community and beyond. Applicants for the Chair position at the company should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field and have a distinguished record of research, teaching, and service that meets the criteria for a tenured full professor. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the field of molecular microbiology and immunology, with a focus on (but not limited to) the study of infectious diseases, the immune system, and the development of novel therapeutic approaches. Strong leadership, communication, and management skills are essential, as is a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment. The Chair is expected to have a vision for the future of the department and the ability to effectively advocate for its interests.
