Opportunity Details

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health , opened in April 2025, seeks an experienced Chief Medical Officer to lead medical staff and patient care programs. Reporting to the CEO, the CMO will oversee patient care continuity within CHRMC and GW Health, and collaborate with the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) on patient care, education, and research.

The ideal candidate will have a clinical background with expertise in quality, regulatory, and safety/risk management in an acute care setting. Preference for candidates residing and practicing in the DMV/Washington area; candidates from outside the area with a strong CMO background are also considered.

Position Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school
• Masters or Physician Executive advanced degree/certification (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH, MMM, FACHE)
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency
• Current ABMS board certification
• Active D.C. medical license or ability to obtain
• Clean professional background
• Experience as a CMO or in a comparable role in a complex acute care setting
• Extensive hospital operations, medical staff policies, quality, and utilization experience
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Ability to lead, mentor, and manage clinical staff
• Compassionate approach to patient care and staff development

Position Responsibilities

• Lead medical staff and care management programs at CHRMC GW Health
• Develop and recommend policies, clinical programs, and facility improvements
• Support quality and safety initiatives and translate them into sustainable actions
• Collaborate with Medical Executive Committee on strategic and policy matters
• Oversee credentialing, medical management, and clinical evaluation
• Represent hospital clinical activities to the Governing Board
• Prioritize patient satisfaction and HCAHPS activities
• Implement clinical information technology solutions
• Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission and D.C. Department of Health standards
• Support the CEO and Board of Governors
