Job Description:
Most likely will be on day shift in the beginning and could get moved to the off shift.
Monday- Saturday. Candidates will have to be flexible on the shift. Will work Saturdays consistently. Will work some Sunday’s. working every 3rd Sunday.
1st shift 5:30AM-3PM , 2nd Shift 1:30PM-11PM , 3rd Shift 9:30PM-7AM
Description: The main function of a controls engineer is to initiate control system design from written sequences of operation. A typical controls engineer is responsible for designing complex piping and wiring diagrams along with providing technical support across various control systems projects.
Job Responsibilities:
· Engineer and design pneumatic piping diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, hydraulic piping diagrams.
· Design electrical control panels.
· Design programmable logic controller software and human machine interface (HMI) software.
· Tryout, debug and provide start-up support for control systems.
· Provide technical support for installation of tools and equipment, training of plant personnel.
· Travel to plant sites as required.
Skills:
· Proficient with application of programmable machine controls hardware and software.
· Proficient with application of Servo drive hardware and software.
· Proficient with AutoCad.
· Familiarity with basic electrical standards and basic safety standards.
· Capable of supervision.
Typical Day in the Role:
Assist UAW Trades and Maintenance Team to troubleshoot automation equipment in the Body Shop when not running. Lead Continuous Improvement Projects in the Body Shop.
· We have Allen Bradley, Rockwell, Control Logics, control logics, device logics, we have power
· Mainly keeping the line moving for product and small integration.
· AutoCAD, Eplan, Siemens, Fanuac programming. Need to be proficient in Microsoft office, Excel.
· We’re all under the maintenance organization. In our cross shift meeting we have the weld engineers, dimensional engineers and then the maintenance organization. We interact with our production counterparts daily too. But directly will interact because usually a maintenance group leader.
TOP 3 Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
· 2-4 years of experience required.
· Rockwell experience is needed
· General Troubleshooting and understanding the process
· Read drawings
Candidate Requirements: 5 years of experience. However, if they have a degree and they have 1 or 2 years of experience is fine.
· Someone that can follow sequence of process, they will be able to troubleshoot the problem. Also, being able to communicate with trades and production. Also, having the ability being able to speak in layman terms.
Location: Wentzville, MO and Onsite position
Max pay: $42/hr. with benefits
