General Motors LLC is seeking a Cost Engineer based at our office located at 29755 Louis Chevrolet Road, Warren, MI 48093. This hybrid position involves working both remotely and from the office, so candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance. The role requires domestic travel up to 15% as needed.

JOB DUTIES:

• Calculate detailed material cost estimates, including piece price and production tooling costs.
• Create, analyze, and validate component material and tooling costs, comparing them to supplier quotes.
• Provide accurate cost estimates and propose cost reduction strategies for assigned commodities.
• Analyze large data sets to inform decision-making.
• Collaborate with the internal GPSC purchasing team to ensure competitive component costs for GM.
• Support GM Interior Seat SMT from a tooling and piece price perspective, including seat trim, components, assembly, and safety features.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of three years' experience in automotive cost estimating, manufacturing, design/engineering, or purchasing.
• Experience in financial evaluation of technical concepts and manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead initiatives.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and cost data analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with cost estimating software and data analytics tools.
