This role will contribute to our daily newscasts by covering stories across Central Florida and the Tampa Bay Area./pulliWill shoot, write edit stories on a daily basis for stations newscasts, recorded programs and/or other live, station broadcasts either in the studio or out on location./liliWorks directly with News Producers on story ideas and development/liliPresents completed stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair and balanced./liliWill report Live during newscasts and breaking news as needed, either in studio or out in the field./liliWill coordinate, organize, conduct and video-record interviews./liliWill develop on-going sweeps and special series stories./liliRepresents Telemundo in community related events./liliBuilds relationships with community and contacts for developing story leads./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliBA or BS in Journalism or related field./liliAt least two years reporting, shooting, writing, and video-editing experience./liliDemonstrated ability to enterprise, research, and plan compelling stories./liliExperience producing both taped and live reports./liliMust be an excellent writer and communicator in Spanish./liliExcellent writing and verbal communication skills./liliProven experience as an entertainment reporter./liliStrong live reporting abilities./liliDeep knowledge of entertainment, culture, and community events./liliPassion for arts, culture, and lifestyle content./liliComfortable discussing entertainment topics and trends./liliAbility to shoot, write, and edit video packages./liliExceptional storytelling skills./liliAbility to meet tight production deadlines./liliCapable of setting up interviews and covering live events, including evenings and weekends./liliProactive in pitching story ideas and generating engaging show topics./liliCollaborative team player across newsroom departments./liliWillingness to work in both Central Florida and Tampa Bay./liliFlexibility to travel, work overtime, and adapt to last-minute schedule changes./liliMust be able to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends./liliMust have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S./liliMust be 18 years or older./liliMust be covered by Solutions, NBCUniversals Alternative Dispute Resolution Program./li/ulpDesired Characteristics/pulliNews judgment with solid ethical decision process./liliStrong English, reading, writing and speaking./liliHigh competitive nature./liliAbility to perform under tight time deadlines./liliSkills to be a problem solver./liliCreative with strong sense of community involvement for unique story ideas./liliStrong writing skills with ability to connect on an emotional level./li/ulh3Additional Information/h3pAs part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
