Join Our Team as an Environmental Compliance and Safety Officer!

Are you ready to make a significant impact in our workplace environment? We are in search of a meticulous and proactive Environmental Compliance and Safety Officer, dedicated to supporting our workplace programs. Your mission will include enforcing Ebara Elliott Energy's EHS&Q standards, ensuring compliance with local legal mandates, and enhancing EHS&Q culture throughout our facility. This role will allow you to train and implement a variety of EHS&Q processes and systems, ensuring a secure and progressive work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Steer improvement efforts by coaching site leadership and the workforce on EHS&Q issues.
• Compile and analyze EHS&Q statistics, identifying hazards and advising on risk mitigation.
• Provide training on EHS&Q matters, with a focus on contemporary safety behaviors.
• Ensure employees and contractors understand and use EHS&Q manuals, policies, and systems.
• Central figure for ISO 9001 certification; explain policies and legislative impact on business operations.
• Conduct internal audits and handle non-conformities, advising on corrective actions.
• Timely filing of Non-Conformance Reports and Quality Action Requests.
• Aid in incident investigations and managing EHS incident reporting.
• Conduct risk assessments on hazardous tasks.
• Facilitate medical surveillance for exposed employees.
• Accurate management of environmental documentation and compliance in waste disposal.
• Foster collaboration in the site Safety Teams Program.
• Collaboration with the Central Safety Committee as site representative.
• Oversee the facility's calibration program.
• Track and report costs associated with scrap and rework to reduce facility expenses.
• Support emergency responses and other EHS&Q tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of both local and OSHA safety regulations.
• Recognized qualification in Occupational Safety & Health with proven experience.
• Qualified in environmental management, with a clear grasp of business impacts.
• Proficient in delivering safety training and promoting a behavior-based safety culture.
• Effective team leadership and cross-departmental collaboration capabilities.
• Strong communicator, adept at both written and verbal transmission of EHS&Q concepts.
• Experienced EHS auditor and incident investigator with formal certification.
• Knowledgeable in quality management and its business implications.

Educational Requirements:

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Recognized OSH qualification (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, CSP, ASP / Diploma).
• Recognized environmental management qualification.

Proficiency In:

• Quality Inspection
• ISO 9001 Certification
• Machine Safety Inspection
• Manufacturing Environment Experience
• Root Cause Analysis
