Position Summary:

As an Expert Cloud Solution Architect, you will use your experience and expertise within API Solution Architecture, design and implementation using Python, to support enterprise-level analytics solutions. In this role, you will lead the architecture of API solutions, driving both new development and providing support and enhancements for Nestle Purina’s existing Azure cloud platform. You will utilize your expertise further by delivering API integrations in complex enterprise environments guide our Data and Analytics group in adopting best practices for API-led connectivity to be deliver data products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the Nestle Purina business to ensure that your API solutions are scalable, secure, high-performing, and meet business needs.

Architect and Develop API Frameworks: Design, develop, and maintain an enterprise-wide API integration framework (not required but, preferably on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform)
Greenfield and Legacy Projects: Lead the architecture of new greenfield API solutions from the ground up, while also enhancing and refactoring existing API frameworks to improve performance and add new capabilities.
Integration & Streaming Solutions: Create integration solutions that connect diverse systems and data sources. Leverage event-driven and streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka or real-time APIs) to enable real-time data exchange where appropriate, seamlessly integrating streaming solutions into the API ecosystem.
DevOps and IaC Implementation: Implement DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). Automate build and release pipelines (CI/CD) using tools such as GitHub Actions, manage infrastructure with Terraform/CloudFormation.
Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as the technical lead for API initiatives, mentoring development teams. Lead design reviews and architectural discussions, and champion the adoption of the API framework by new teams or business units (adapting the framework for their use).
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data platforms.
Communication: Excellent communication skills as the position requires a great deal of collaboration with global teams and might require working through approvals and infrastructure set-up

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering API frameworks or integration solutions in enterprise environments.
4+ years of experience working in an enterprise cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
4+ years of experience working with DevOps tools and practices
5+ years of experience architecting with both new solutions and enhance existing frameworks

Other

Familiarity with streaming solutions and event-driven architectures that leverage APIs
Experience with Pyspark, Shell Scripting, Azure Databricks, DBMS, Database/Datawarehousing
Familiarity with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform designing APIs, building integrations/flows, and managing the full API lifecycle (development, testing, deployment, and management).
Experience with other API management and integration platforms (Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, etc.)
Solid understanding of integration and security patterns, microservices architecture, and designing ReST-ful APIs for high availability and performance.

The approximate pay range for this position is $150,000.00 to $175,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
