Responsibilities include maintaining the physical grounds of the hotel, including the parking lot and courtyard. The role of a groundsperson must be attentive to detail to ensure a high-quality appearance of the entire property. The groundsperson must be dexterous, with a fast pace and an ability to use different equipment when necessary.

Essential Job Functions

1. Responsible for maintaining and upkeep of the physical grounds of the hotel including parking lot and courtyard.
2. Responsible for cutting grass and watering flowers.
3. Perform daily inspection of physical grounds and equipment.
4. Responsible for maintaining a clean grounds including; sweeping curbs, cleaning parking lot and courtyard.
5. Must be proficient with a variety of grounds keeping tools and equipment, such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc.
6. Responds in a courteous manner to all guest questions, requests, and complaints.

2. Extremely task oriented with high standards of quality and accuracy.
3. Strong follow through on delegated tasks and assignments.
4. Ability to troubleshoot problems independently.
5. Ability to work at a faster than average pace.

Education & Experience

1. Zero to two years of experience.
2. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
3. Basic knowledge of landscaping preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outdoor weather.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A groundsperson may be subject to different outdoor temperatures, and must be willing to adapt to the changes in weather.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position with expectation to work necessary business hours to ensure business needs are met during the operation of the Maintenance Department.
