Inpatient Vascular Neurology Physician Assistant Join to apply for the Inpatient Vascular Neurology Physician Assistant role at UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center. Responsibilities Provide independent advanced level physician assistant clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis. This includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols as defined by practice agreements for the department. May include non-invasive or invasive procedures and operative first assist per approved standardized procedures. Provide direct patient care to a diversified patient population. Apply knowledge, experience and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and evaluate clinical situations. Participate in patient and staff education. Demonstrate leadership and accountability for own practices as defined by the Physician Assistant Practice Act. Working in team-based care with attendings and residents to assist with management of neurology patients with stroke and acute neurological injuries on the ward and ICU services and typical functions (admission, discharge, follow-up). Manage acute neurological injuries including stroke and ICH in the ED setting. Expectation for TeleNeurology/TeleStroke follow-up with attendings at remote sites. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications California Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) National board certification as a Physician Assistant Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 7 days of hire Graduation with a master's degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program, or completion of certified PA training from an accredited program At least one (1) year experience as a PA in an adult inpatient setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Judgment skills to effectively meet the needs of patients Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing as a billable provider Preferred Qualifications Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) Certification At least one (1) year experience as a Physician Assistant in Neurology Department and Role Details Department: Vascular Neurology Service (inpatient APP) Day-to-day: team-based care with attendings and residents; manage neurology patients with stroke and acute neurological injuries on the ward and ICU; admission, discharge, follow-up Acute management of neurological injuries including stroke and ICH in the ED setting TeleNeurology/TeleStroke follow-up with remote attendings Position Information Salary range: $79.61 - $105.05 hourly Location: Main Hospital (HSP001) Appointment Type: Staff: Career Percentage of Time: 100% Shift: Variable 10 hour day shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage Benefits Eligible: Yes This position is 100% on-site Benefits UC Davis offers a full range of benefits to help you and your family achieve health, wellness, financial, and career goals.
