This position is 16 hours total, 8 hours Tuesdays and 8 hours Thursdays.

Our staff at Morton Comprehensive works everyday focusing on the needs of our patients and how they can improve the lives of the people they serve.

We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team of compassionate caregivers.

This person is responsible for handling front office reception duties for the laboratory department, performing venipunctures and finger sticks, processing medical laboratory tests, and documenting the results for diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease.

Qualifications for This Position Include:

• High School Diploma / GED required
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Registered/Certified Medical Assistant (R/CMA) or three or more years of directly related experience
• Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skill
• Demonstrated critical thinking skill
• Experience working with lab equipment
• Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of EMR systems
• A minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish required

This position has been deemed a” Safety-Sensitive” position; therefore, Morton reserves the right to refuse to hire an applicant or may terminate an employee in a “Safety-Sensitive Position” who tests positive for medical marijuana even if he/she has a valid medical marijuana license.
