*SUMMARY:*
The Department of Literature and Languages is seeking faculty for a full-time Lecturer position in English composition. This is a non-tenure-track position that will begin in Fall 2025. The selected candidate will teach five courses, chiefly in lower-level composition, each semester. The ideal candidate will practice an innovative and student-centered writing pedagogy. Candidates should have experience teaching developmental and other writing courses at post-secondary institutions, including experience teaching in face-to-face, hybrid/blended, and online modalities; working with multilingual learners. The Lecturer in English composition is responsible for teaching undergraduate-level courses in English composition; advising students as appropriate; working closely with program and departmental administration; and providing service to the department, college, and university.
*DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*

* Teaches undergraduate-level English courses;
* Works closely with program and departmental administration;
* Advises students;
* Prepares syllabi;
* Updates course materials;
* Participates in curriculum development and assessment;
* Delivers instruction both online and on any of the university campuses.
* Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs;
* Provides service to the department, college, and university; and
* Maintains knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning with research, best practices in teaching, and technological applications in the classroom, including online teaching.
*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*

* *Education: *Master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely-related field.
* *Experience / Knowledge / Skills: *Demonstrate experience of successful teaching in lower-level and upper-level English composition courses at the college level.
* *Ability to:* Multi-task and work well as part of a team.

*PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:*
PhD in in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or a closely-related field.
