Job Description
Job Summary:
The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) provides mental health counseling services to individuals, couples, families, or groups. The LPC is responsible for assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, providing therapeutic interventions, and evaluating progress. This role involves collaboration with other healthcare professionals to support clients' overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual, group, couples, and/or family therapy sessions.
Perform client assessments through interviews, observations, and standardized assessments.
Develop personalized treatment plans based on client needs, goals, and clinical diagnoses.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Collaborate with psychiatric APRN, social workers, case managers, and other professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when necessary.
Educate clients on coping strategies, life skills, and mental health awareness.
Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to professional codes of ethics and legal regulations.
Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Experience providing clinical mental health services (e.g., internships, residencies, prior practice).
Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
Bilingual (depending on client population).
Specialized experience (e.g., substance use, trauma, children/adolescents, veterans).
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
