The Opportunity:

The Optical and Photonics Systems group of CACI is looking for candidates to help develop the next generation of optical technologies. These include free-space optical communications terminals and modems and high-power optical sources across the optical spectrum. Particularly, efforts will develop the next generation of capabilities, with previous successes having flown on the International Space Station as part of an optical communications relay demonstration and another having achieved the current largest data optical transmission range of >19 million miles, along with developing the Space Defense Agency's standard terminal for laser communications.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:
    \n
  • Ensure all mechanical documents comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements
  • \n
  • Manage the creation, revision, and distribution of mechanical engineering documents
  • \n
  • Create engineering change orders for new designs and design updates. Review ECOs for completeness and accuracy.
  • \n
  • Coordinate the review and approval process for mechanical documents, ensuring timely feedback and sign-off from relevant stakeholders
  • \n

Qualifications:

Required:
    \n
  • US Citizenship is required
  • \n
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
  • \n
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in document control, preferably within a mechanical engineering environment
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret Electrical and Mechanical drawings
  • \n
  • Ability to create clear documentation: build procedures, test plans, reports, etc
  • \n
  • Ability to create complete and clear Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • \n
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • \n
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • \n
  • Understands industry-standard engineering practices and principles
  • \n
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • \n

  • Experience with configuration management and change control software such as Infor, Arena, Omnify, etc. (Infor preferred)

  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry
  • \n

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$51,800-$106,200
