Requirements

• Active and unrestricted MD or DO license
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Practice, OR Emergency Medicine strongly preferred
• Experience in long-term care, geriatrics, or skilled nursing strongly preferred
• Familiarity with regulatory visits and documentation timelines
• Ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers (PAs/NPs) under state collaboration guidelines
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with interdisciplinary teams and surveyors

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person evaluations (H&Ps, 30-day/60-day regulatory visits)
• Attend and contribute to monthly QA/QAPI meetings
• Provide leadership on quality improvement measures: falls, wounds, psychotropic use, and re-hospitalizations
• Offer clinical oversight for infection control, catheter protocols, and antibiotic stewardship
• Supervise and perform chart reviews/quality meetings with APPs under state-specific requirements
• Ensure timely documentation (within 2448 hours for notes, orders, and key forms such as death certificates and therapy orders)
• Remain accessible during business hours for facility leadership and staff
• Support the facility during state surveys with expert medical input
• Maintain 100% compliance with regulatory and operational responsibilities to retain Medical Director stipend

Pay: $280-450K per year
