Role Details

Summary:

The primary function of this role is to ensure the timely and accurate processing of the location’s payroll along with the ongoing testing/compliance of any payroll system changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for plant employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with collective bargaining agreements and company policies.
  • Interpret and apply union contracts to payroll processing, ensuring proper wage calculations, differentials, overtime, and other negotiated benefits.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, management, and union representatives, providing clarification on payroll calculations and deductions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including timesheets, adjustments, and union-related deductions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Support audits by maintaining detailed records, keeping standard work processes up to date, preparing necessary reports, and responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies by analyzing information, investigating issues, and making corrections as needed.
  • Train supervisors and other individuals in time keeping system when they transition into their roles and consistent updated training when necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline payroll processes, improve efficiencies, and enhance compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and union agreements to ensure payroll practices remain compliant.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Payroll Manager and HR leadership.

Requirements:

  • Education: HS Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred
  • Technical Experience: 3 + Year of payroll experience, 5+ preferred
  • Management experience not required
  • Manufacturing: None, 5+ years experience preferred
  • Training/Certificates: None, PHR or SPHR preferred
  • Other Preferred: Experience with complex payroll systems, particularly in a Union setting. Experience with ADP/E-Time
