As a Process Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customer orders are efficiently filled and dispatched for timely delivery. You will engage in various activities within the warehouse, including general cleaning, washing hoses, and handling materials using a sit-down forklift. Your primary responsibility will involve handling liquid chemicals used for water treatment, filling orders, and maintaining cleanliness in the facility.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders by filling totes or drums with liquid chemicals and stage them at the dock for loading onto trucks.
• Use electronic pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts to move and stage finished totes or palletized drums.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately, including process conditions, test results, instrument readings, and shipping documentation.
• Engage in general cleaning duties such as washing hoses, cleaning drums, and tidying up the warehouse.
• Spend significant time washing out used totes, disposing of used totes, and cutting down and washing trashed drums.

Essential Skills

• Experience with sit-down forklifts for at least six months or regular use in a current job.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production role, or any labor-intensive job.
• Strong customer focus and attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling and item selection.
• Willingness and ability to work outside as needed for tasks like drum washing.
• Steel-toed shoes are required.
• Willingness to work with chemicals safely by following established procedures.
• Ability to shave facial hair to fit into a respirator when necessary.

• 2nd shift: 12:00PM - 8:00PM

Work Environment

The work environment consists of 1st, mid, and 2nd shifts, with no mandatory overtime or weekend work. Employees may occasionally work overtime to ensure tasks are completed. Operators must wear protective gear, including a bump cap, safety glasses, gloves, and a chemical suit in certain areas. The warehouse is temperature-controlled, but it can still be warm in summer. Chemicals handled include phosphates, sodium hypo, caustic soda, and various coagulants.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camby, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
