Our client, one of the pacific northwest top employers, has engaged our firm in their search for CAD Drafter - Ride Control. . The person in this role would be responsible for supporting the ride attraction project team with day to day needs. Job Description:

Summary : Ride Control CAD Drafters work within Company Ride Studio on ride attraction project teams. They are responsible for electrical/electronic control system CAD and drafting tasks. This role operates in a collaborative environment across multiple project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft original layouts, assembly drawings, schematics, isometrics, and illustrations based on engineering concepts.
  • Support electro-mechanical packaging design of industrial control panels.
  • Create design detail drawings and schematics using AutoCAD based on WDI standards.
  • Ensure compliance with UL508a, NEC, and ANSI Y14.5 standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers to present, review, and refine drafted designs.
  • Model equipment locations in Revit.
  • Prepare and release fully developed drawings and documentation (e.g., BOMs, cable schedules).
  • Review external engineering drawings for drafting standard compliance.
  • Design multi-layer PCB assemblies based on engineering schematics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience drafting control system drawings for electromechanical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, enclosures, relays, terminal blocks, etc.
  • Working knowledge of UL508a, NEC, and ASME Y14.5.
  • Skilled in drafting electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a team environment.
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D CAD tools: Solidworks, Revit, Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell or Beckhoff automation systems.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and OT networking.
  • Experience with EPLAN and Solidworks.
  • Field experience with wiring, testing, and startup of control systems.
  • PCB design and fabrication knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Formal training in AutoCAD, Solidworks, EPLAN, or Revit.

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Associate Degree in Electronics, CAD Design Drafting, Engineering Graphics & Design Technology, or related field.
  • Preferred: Additional formal training or certifications in relevant CAD software.
