Senior Grants Manager

Our client, a respected scientific research company, is seeking a skilled Senior Grants Manager to join their team on a direct hire basis. This individual will oversee proposal review and submission processes, ensure compliance with Federal, State, and company regulations, provide education and training related to sponsored programs and proposal development.

Compensation: $80K-90K*
*Potential offers vary based on experience level and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serves as a resource to staff regarding organizational policies related to grant administration, procedures, and compliance.
  • Reviews proposals to ensure alignment with policies, sponsor regulations, and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Conducts pre-award negotiations with sponsor representatives and acts as a liaison with external funding agencies throughout the proposal and award processes.
  • Reviews and analyzes proposed subaward relationships, including cost reasonableness, rate verification, sole-source justifications, and other required documentation.
  • Evaluates award terms and conditions for acceptability and compliance; negotiates modifications with sponsors when needed.
  • Officially signs and electronically submits grant applications to external sponsors on behalf of the organization.
  • Provides guidance to scientists, researchers, and administrative staff on all aspects of preparing grant proposals.
  • Implement policies and procedures related to the development and submission of sponsored project proposals.
  • Serves as a resource for electronic submission platforms such as NSF systems, Research.gov, eRA Commons, and other sponsor-specific portals.
  • Prepares award setup documentation for entry into internal administrative systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • BA Degree with 5+ years of experience with federal grant policies and procedures, and working knowledge of federal regulatory environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 
  • Pre-Award experience required.
  • Ability to multi-task, interact with professionals at all levels, have solid decision-making skills and have excellent writing and verbal communication.
  • Intermediate Excel & Word experience and knowledge of working within a grants management database.
