About the Role
The Senior Technical Design Manager will report directly to the VP of Design. In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing all fit samples, focusing on construction details, and identifying potential fit or production issues in collaboration with the cross-functional team.

You will also oversee construction maximization by partnering with production teams and both import and domestic factories. Collaboration with Product Development on fit tracking will be essential to ensure that styles are fitted in a timely manner. Additionally, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to manage deadlines, delivery dates, costing, and margins while maintaining aesthetic expectations.

Managing priority levels for the technical design and pattern teams will be crucial, ensuring timely collaboration to execute comments effectively. You will actively represent the technical department in all calendar checkpoints and major milestone meetings. Coaching and mentoring team members, setting clear objectives, and providing ongoing performance feedback will be part of your responsibilities.

Furthermore, you will collaborate with vendors on building blocks and the standardization of fit, while partnering with the Sr. Director on ongoing process improvement and scaling efforts.

Key Responsibilities : (Including but not limited to):
  • Create technical specification packages that include detailed garment construction information, such as sewing details, trims, and measurements
  • Measure incoming garments against vendor measurements and maintain accurate measurements and specifications to ensure consistency across all product categories
  • Prepare and track samples for fittings and make sure approval dates are met
  • Attend & run technical fittings by preparing samples, taking notes, and completing fit lists
  • Maintain tech log under the direction of the VP of Design
  • Maintain tech packs under the direction of the VP of Design (Men’s)
  • Generate detailed POM sketch, specs, and tech packs.
  • Communication with factories in various methods, i.e. pattern correction, digital photos, technical sketches, technical notes, and garment construction
  • Manage style input in web-based PLM
  • Collaborate with internal/external teams: daily communication with overseas partners and internal Design, Production & Product Development departments
  • Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company's needs and operations.

Qualifications for Success:

  • College degree in technical design, fashion design, or equivalent experience in related area, and minimum of 8+ years of technical design experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical design experience with men’s line, including tops, bottoms, outerwear, and knits.

  • High creativity and artistic abilities, an eye for color, texture, and pattern, with keen attention to detail and ability to visualize in three dimensions.
  • Knowledge of fabric finishes/treatments for different fabric capabilities and functions.
  • Knowledge of the grade rule and sewing, and of patternmaking and draping.
  • Ability to lead fittings with design teams.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, email and internet.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills as required for effective interpersonal communication and collaboration with the design, sales team, and production
  • Excellent organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workload seamlessly, with strong attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company/department.
