Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Are you energized by challenges that make others step back? Do you stay cool under pressure while managing competing priorities? Then come join Amazon's Law Enforcement Response (LER) team as a Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in bridging the gap between law enforcement agencies and Amazon's commitment to security and customer privacy. In this full-time, in-office position, you'll manage and respond to global law enforcement requests, primarily from U.S. and European agencies, while expertly balancing urgent priorities and assessing operational and business risks.

The ideal candidate brings a balanced approach to managing multiple priorities, demonstrates sound judgment in complex situations, and maintains exceptional attention to detail while upholding the highest standards of customer data privacy and security compliance.

Key job responsibilities
• Evaluate and process law enforcement requests with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and Amazon's policies requiring strategic thinking and swift, accurate judgment during and outside of business hours..
• Expertly utilize multiple internal tools and systems to compile, analyze, and deliver accurate information while maintaining adherence to strict confidentiality standards..
• Help drive continuous improvement by identifying patterns, trends, and opportunities to enhance operational efficiency in request processing. You will also contribute to policy development and process refinement, focusing on scalability and operational excellence.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with law enforcement personnel, Amazon employees, and other stakeholders, always maintaining the highest standards of discretion.
• This role involves exposure to sensitive and potentially disturbing content, including graphic images, videos, audio recordings, and offensive or derogatory language.
• Specialists rotate on-call duties every 10-12 weeks, responding to emergency law enforcement requests during weekdays (7:00 AM - 10:00 PM PST) and overnight shifts on weekends.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree and/or 3+ years of professional experience in roles requiring high attention to detail and handling of sensitive or confidential information.
• Knowledge of criminal justice processes, including understanding of legal documents (subpoenas, search warrants, court orders) and law enforcement request procedures.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, tools, and procedures.
• Proven capacity to manage numerous complex and time-critical law enforcement requests simultaneously.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently while managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
