We are seeking a senior-level Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specialist and Technical Advisor to support the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) program. This role combines logistics expertise with deep technical understanding of submarine combat systems , providing a unique opportunity to influence how next-generation U.S. Navy systems are maintained, operated, and documented.

Job Summary:

You will lead ILS product development while serving as a key technical advisor in the implementation and support of Common Infrastructure Services (CIS) and Common Computing Environment (CCE) . Youll ensure technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and training materials are fleet-relevant, accurate, and aligned with evolving system capabilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and review of ILS products, including technical manuals, training materials, and maintenance documentation
  • Participate in design reviews, software implementation demos, and technical interchange meetings (TIMs)
  • Provide operational feedback on feature design and implementation impacts to engineering and technical writing teams
  • Validate and refine Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) content for usability, technical accuracy, and structural integrity
  • Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and government stakeholders to resolve content discrepancies
  • Translate complex system behavior into maintainable and user-friendly technical documentation
  • Develop and review preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentation
  • Support Navy testing events (both in labs and on submarines), including validation of test procedures
  • Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and documentation review boards

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 2+ years of relevant work, or Masters degree with 3+ years
  • Fully proficient knowledge of ILS elements and Acquisition Logistics principles
  • Experience with IETMs, technical manual development, and documentation in accordance with DoD standards (MIL-STD-3001, 38784, 24784, 40051-2C)
  • Operational familiarity with SWFTS, CIS, or CCE components
  • Strong grasp of Navy maintenance procedures and philosophies, especially for combat systems
  • Experience working within Navy logistics systems such as CDMD-OA, TDMIS, or SCLSIS
  • Excellent technical communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), XML authoring tools (XMLSpy) or similar, and diagramming in Visio
  • Comfortable interpreting schematics, interface documentation, and system configuration artifacts

  • Prior experience as a BYG-1/SWFTS Systems

  • Experience authoring content in multiple formats including HTML, PDF, XML, and S1000D-compliant IETMs
  • Instructional design experience and familiarity with Navy training development standards
  • Hands-on experience supporting operational testing and troubleshooting of submarine systems
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in one or more related technical domains
