Job Description
LHH is working on a new Tax Accountant opening for a public accounting client of ours here in Columbus, OH. This is a perfect opportunity for a recent accounting graduate who is interested public tax! The role is responsible for supporting and preparing a variety of tax filings including working on both routine and complex tax assignments, collaborating with colleagues, management, and clients to deliver high-quality results. Key Duties
Complete tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, and trusts.
Perform foundational tax research and handle related correspondence.
Assist with tax planning and preparation support tasks.
Organize and manage client documentation and deliverables.
Guarantee compliance with deadlines for federal, state, and local tax filings.
Uphold quality standards throughout all tax processes.
Contribute to special projects and tax-related initiatives.
Work closely with team members, clients, and leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
Up to three years of experience in public accounting (entry-level applicants welcome).
Strong teamwork skills and a positive, collaborative approach.
Solid understanding of finance, accounting principles, budgeting, and cost controls, including GAAP.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant software.
Analytical mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Adaptable to change, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation preferred but not required
Familiarity with federal and state tax laws preferred but not required
Ability to pick up new software systems quickly
