The Training Device Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, upgrading, and performing functional tests on F-15EX flight simulators and related training devices. This role includes troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software issues while ensuring simulator systems operate correctly. The position is long-term, based in Okinawa, Japan, and requires security clearance and international relocation eligibility.

The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced F-15E Training Device Technician for the F-15E Mission Training Center (MTC) simulation services contract at the Okinawa, Japan facility.
This Training Device Technician will be looking for the modification of the F-15 EX simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software. You will assist with repairs and tests, installations, configures, upgrades and will assist in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software, as well as perform general inspections for pre-operations, post-operations and component handling of training devices, assemblies and components. Additionally, you will conduct functional tests of training device systems and monitor device instrumentation and bench mounted indicators.
This is a Long-Term Assignment to Okinawa, Japan for up to 5 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided.
If offered, this role is contingent upon the ability for the candidate to meet international Health assignment requirements. If accompanied, the clearances are also contingent for any family relocating with you, for they must also meet international health requirements.
You may be permitted to transfer to your new assignment prior to obtaining these clearances; but you will be unable to expatriate to your new international assignment until all clearances are obtained. In addition, if you are unable to secure the required clearances, the result may be reclassification, reassignment or termination of employment.
Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided based on candidate eligibility.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repairs, tests, installs, configures, upgrades and assists in the modification of F-15EX simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software.
Perform all maintenance, inspections, repair, replacement of parts, teardown, re-assembly, calibration, testing and operational checks to ensure proper system performance. Correct malfunctions and verify the service condition of components, system and subsystem of each trainer system.
Perform maintenance on simulator spares and support equipment.
Perform network troubleshooting and maintenance.
Perform troubleshooting to isolate computational, mechanical, or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
Provide customer service to end-users (aircrew, subject matter experts, and engineering).
Perform additional duties as assigned by manager or site/shift lead.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Min 5 years previous experience maintaining flight simulators, training devices or experience in avionics, electronics and/or computer information systems.
Experience with computer operating systems, visual and display systems, Cisco switches, software including Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and Linux.
Clearance:
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
Must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Associate’s degree or combined equivalent level of education and experience.
Have a working knowledge of computers and operating systems; must be able to remove and install software on multiple platforms with administrative privileges.
Be able to identify basic I/O devices for computing to include but not limited to mouse, keyboard, multiple video formats and connections, power requirements, disk drive types.
Conduct and maintain classified Inventories. Safeguard classified information systems.
Typical Education and Experience
Expert (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.
International relocation to Okinawa, Japan will be provided to the candidate at time of expatriate departure. This position does not offer relocation domestically
