Job Title: Travel Nurse - Surgical Tech

Location: Kailua

Department/Unit: Surgical Services Dept

Shift: Day Shift

Number of Weeks: 13

Salary: $35 - $45 per hour

EliteCare Medical Staffing is seeking a qualified and dedicated Travel Nurse - Surgical Tech to join our team in Kailua. This position is an excellent opportunity to provide essential support in the operating room while ensuring high standards of patient care.

• Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology.
• Preferred: 2+ years of relevant acute care experience.

• National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certification: Required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (NCCT-ST): Required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required.

• Verify the surgery to be performed with consent forms and escort the patient to the assigned operating room.
• Pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures and anticipate the surgeon's needs for additional supplies.
• Perform appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Prepare sterile dressings and secure them after incision closure.
• Check supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure and obtain appropriate sterile and unsterile items.
• Set up a sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
• Help drape the sterile field and clean/prep instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assist other team members with cleaning the room for turnover and prepping for the next patient.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
