Epsilon Systems is seeking a Temporary Welder II in National City, CA.
Summary: Performs various welding processes to repair, modify and install various pipes, structures, foundations and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic and water systems.
Responsibilities:
\n - Reports directly to the Production Manager. Once assigned, reports directly to the project Foreman in the performance of his/her responsibilities.
\n - Strictly adheres to corporate, federal, state and local safety regulations prior to setting up or operating any machinery.
\n - Ensures that all Epsilon Systems Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn and that all damaged PPE is discarded. Read and understand Epsilon Systems PPE Policy.
\n - Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operation of the machine shop equipment prior to commencing the operation.
\n - Lays out material prior to performing machining operations to prevent possible errors.
\n - Machines parts to close tolerances ensuring finish requirements of the drawings are achieved.
\n - Maintains good housekeeping practices; turning off machines when not in use, disposing of waste properly, sweeping the area, etc.
\n - Ensures that all requirements of the Epsilon Systems Quality Assurance Manual are followed when invoked by QA Workbook, Work Package (WP), Work Instructions (WI) and/or other guidance given by management.
\n - Follows detailed repair procedures and instructions (e.g.; QA packages steps, RECs, CWPs, FWPs, TGIs etc.) required completing the production operations.
\n - Notifies Foreman of any unsatisfactory condition(s) identified during the production operation (i.e.; repair, modification, etc.).
\n - Reads and understands basic terminology, blueprints, drawings and schematics to plan installation, modification or repair prior to commencing the process.
\n - Fabricates and installs fixtures, jigs, supports and targets to ensure proper alignment during welding processes.
\n - Selects welding filler materials, joint design, proper heat ranges and most effective or required welding process/procedure to ensure quality welding operations IAW TWD.
\n - Ensures control and assumes responsibility for Level I material controls in accordance with Epsilon Systems Instructions.
\n - Selects proper materials and requirements to perform welding functions.
\n - Performs work outside of trade if necessary.

Qualifications:
\n - High school diploma/equivalent.
\n - 3 years' experience working under a skilled welder.
\n - Has knowledge of the trade qualifications and performs as an Welder II.
\n - Must be able to understand and perform the basic set up, adjustment, and operation of various welding equipment and hand tools used in the trade.
\n - Ability to properly select welding filler material, joint design and proper heat ranges as directed by Technical Work Documents.
\n - Ability to use grinding and cutting tools.
\n - Communicates effectively, work independently or in a group.
\n - Ability to do basic math, i.e. add, subtract, divide and multiply.
\n - Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
\n - Ability to read and understand basic terminology, blueprints, drawings and schematics to plan installation, modification or repair prior to commencing the process.
\n - Ability to perform the following hot work operations: Plasma Arc Cutting, Carbon Arc Cutting, Oxygen/Acetylene Cutting, SMAW.
\n - Must be qualified in a minimum of 5 welding/brazing processes.
\n - Must be able to obtain and maintain access to US military and/or government installations.
\n - Must be able to travel.
\n

Pay Range:
- The pay range for this role is $25.00 to $28.00 per hour. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
\n

\n - Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional and loud noises.
\n - Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships).
\n - Able to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.
\n - Must have manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, assemble small objects.
\n - Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
\n - Able to perceive and distinguish normal range of colors.
\n - May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
