Job Description

Volt is immediately hiring a CAD Designer with SmartPlant instrumentation experience in  The Woodlands, TX with a well-known industry leader. 

In this role you will assist in providing quality Projects from engineering sketches for internal use and to be issued to the client. 

This is a first shift position

As a CAD Designer you will:
  • Assist in providing mechanical design and detail drawings required for use in shop fabrication as directed by supervisor
  • Gather information required for design & drafting
  • Adhere to Document Management System for drawing numbering, editing and issuing
  • 3D modeling of equipment
  • Use of Smartplant instrumentation software
  • Prepare detailed shop fabrication drawings
Estimated Duration: 6-12 mths.


The ideal candidate will have:
  • Some knowledge of SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant required and must be visible on resume
  • Working knowledge of fabrication drawing layouts
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Knowledge of Inventor a plus
Education and/or Experience:
  • An Associate Degree, or 2 years of college coursework (or 5 years job related experience)
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Pay Rate: $ 47.00-$60.00 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
